The files w?_psfs.tar.gz, one for each band, are gzipped tar files that contain FITS format images of the WISE Single-exposure PSFs. These are the PSF templates that have been used for all NEOWISE data processing. When decompressed and unpacked, each file contains 162 FITS files that are the PSFs templates and uncertainty maps for each WISE band. The WISE focal planes are subdivided into a 9x9 grid of equal areas. The grid elements, specified in the names of the file (e.g. 01x01, 01x02, etc), indicate the segment of the Single-exposure image to which a particular PSF corresponds. Element 01x01 corresponds to the lower left corner of the images, in pixel space. There are PSF template and uncertainty maps for each grid element. The PSF template and uncertainty map file names have the form: wise-w[1,2]-psf-wpro-09x09-XXxYY.fits wise-w[1,2]-psfunc-wpro-09x09-XXxYY.fits where [1,2] indicates the WISE band and XXxYY indicates the x-y coordinate of the 9x9 grid element.
