Interface Name: Completeness and Reliability Truth Tables for QA
Type of Interface: ASCII text file output by non-pipeline IDL software

Description:
These programs take a list of point sources at the North Ecliptic Pole (NEP) and
South Ecliptic Pole (SEP) with photometry from IRAC and MIPS on Spitzer and
filters the list according to the criteria listed below. Photometry were
obtained by T. Jarrett using a non-pipeline version WPhot. For each band and
pole two source lists were created, a "clean" list and a "full" list. The
"clean" list is a set of stars within a fixed, circular region on the sky,
having only nominal flags set (i.e., no saturation, upper limits, blending,
etc.), and having SNR>20. This list is used for the Completeness calculation.
The "full" list keeps sources with SNR>20 and does no other checks. The "full"
list is used for Reliability.

The mapping from Spitzer data to WISE bands is as follows:
  IRAC Ch. 1 -> W1
  IRAC Ch. 2 -> W2
  IRAC Ch. 4 -> W3
  MIPS 24    -> W4

NEP Source list:
The "clean" source lists were obtained from the source file
"NEP_IRAC+MIPS.CompleteArea.2009Aug15.tbl". The sources in this table were
spatially filtered to be within 21.5 arcmin of the J2000 position
RA = 270.030470, Dec = 66.614521 (decimal degrees). The position was selected
such that point sources in this area were contained within the image boundaries
of all Spitzer images. This table was filtered according to these criteria:
  aperture mag < 98.0                 (mag=99.00 -> null)
  best magnitude type != 's' (no saturated sources)
  aperture mag error <= 1.0857/20.0 (SNR>20 sources only)
                      > 0.0 (error for null source)
  # blends == 1                       (not a blended source)
  blend flag == 0 (not a blended source)
  source flag == 0 (nominal photometry)
  profile magnitude error < 9.8 (no upper limit sources)
Selected sources were written to files named nep_clean_w[1-4].tbl

The "full" lists were obtained from the source file
"NEP_IRAC+MIPS.All.2009Aug15.tbl". This file contains an irregularly shaped
region of stars, that may or may not be present on all images. The only
filtering done was to ensure sources with SNR>20 (see above). Selected sources
were written to files named nep_full_w[1-4].tbl.

SEP Source list:
The "clean" source lists were obtained from the source file
"SEP_IRAC+MIPS.CompleteArea.2009Oct21.tbl". Unlike, the NEP Complete Area source
table, the sources in this file were not contained within a simple circular area.
Therefore, I selected a circular area that was uniformly populated by point
sources and did not contain gaps in the coverage. The sources in this table
were spatially filtered to be within 24.5 arcmin of the J2000 position RA =
89.582736, Dec = -66.911229 (decimal degrees). This table was filtered according
to the criteria described for the NEP "clean" table.
Selected sources were written to files named sep_clean_w[1-4].tbl

Since the Spitzer source list used for the "clean" table covered a larger area
than used for the "clean" table, I was able to use the same input file for the
"full" list. As before, the only filtering done was to ensure sources with
SNR>20 (see above). Selected sources were written to files named
sep_full_w[1-4].tbl.
