Fowler DESCRIPTION: Note that this version of BvB is a near-total rewrite of the previous version, based on lessons learned from processing flight data. Due to sensitivity to distortion errors, it was decided to go back to the basic SDEX data without any processing, aside from the pair matching. Starting with non-distortion-corrected positions, the best available distortion models at the time of the analysis can be applied "on the fly". One BvB file is generated for each frameset. This file includes the data needed to fit direct band-to-band differences. Each record includes single-band extraction coordinates, uncertainties & magnitudes for a matched pair of sources. For each source the data remains as it was received from SDEX with no distortion corrections made. Each record contains the data for the shorter-wavelength band source, followed by that of the longer-wavelength source. The source matching is from mergex in SFPRex. Note that "NSrcS" and "NSrcL" refer to SDEX record numbers (excluding headers), not source ID's. Key words in the headers include band-to-band pair counts and the band-frame position solutions from SFPRex. The first column specifies which of the six possible short-vs-long wavelength band pairings (W1v2, W1v3, W1v4, W2v3, W2v4 or W3v4) that record contains. The intent is that a large set of BvB files be used to compute more accurate band-to-band conversions, such that given the frame parameters associated with a given band the corresponding parameters for any longer-wavelength band can be easily computed. In addition this file is intended to support the generation of pseudo RvB files which can then be used to fit for differential distortion between bands. Will likely be the best approach to obtain W4 distortion.
